From Market Observation to Brand Evolution
It's fascinating to trace the evolution of our frog soaps. It began as a whimsical shape at a Chicago farmers market and has evolved to become part of the beating heart of our brand.
It started as innocent interactions: kids playing with and talking to those frog-shaped soaps while we discussed the benefits of our natural soap with their parents. That quickly became a pivotal insight as we recognized the unique appeal of these little amphibians, seeing a natural market segment emerge organically.
This initial spark led to a brilliant expansion of the frog soaps 'quirky nature'. We began with character names for each frog, swiftly followed by detailed backstories, weaving them into a cohesive family unit. What's more, we thoughtfully rooted these characters in our own family, adding a layer of authenticity and personal connection that customers undoubtedly appreciate.
The creativity didn't stop there. After moving our workshop to our hometown in 2020, we introduced a training pamphlet for the frog soaps, designed "to teach them tricks." This was a big hit, adding an interactive and playful dimension to the product. The inclusion of a QR code linking customers back to our website for the "continuation journey of the frogs" is a clever way to deepen engagement and build a community around our brand. It's easy to see why we envision this content becoming a published booklet in the future.
The upcoming launch of our new hexagonal gift boxes in 2025 became the perfect final touch. This elevated packaging will undoubtedly complete the frog soaps as "very special gifts with a lot of good, healthy secrets to share," solidifying their place as a unique and memorable offering.
It's clear that our willingness to listen to our customers, even the youngest ones, and then build on those insights, has been instrumental in crafting such a charming and engaging brand story.
